The annual exhibit by the Border Artists is a widely anticipated event as this premiere group never fails to raise the bar for art in Las Cruces and throughout the state. Celebrating their 20th anniversary year underscores this exhibit as one to remember. The group exhibit, Intense Dialogue, is hosted by the Unsettled Gallery. A gala opening reception will be held on Saturday, August 28 from 5–8pm and will include food, beverages, and live music performed by Brack Morrow. The show will run through Saturday, October 2.
Four new members of the Border Artists will be introduced at this exhibition: Jenni Higginbotham, Michael Poncé, Jean Reece Wilkey, and Terry Wolfe. These new members have added youth and vitality to the group though it is tempered by a deep love and understanding for the craft–the spine of draftsmanship, use of color, and form to truly make an idea sing in a realm above the ordinary. In addition, the other members of the Border Artists participating in Intense Dialogue are: Sherry Doil-Carter, Janice Cook, Tauna Cole-Dorn, Tom Gerend, Winfrey Hearst, Annetta Hoover, Suzanne Kane, Cassandra Lockwood, Rosemary McLoughlin, Diana Molina, Jesse Reinhard, Jeanne Rundell, Jo-an Smith, Dan Tapper, Scott Weaver, and Bob Willis.
